July '09

Ah, July. I wish you were here again. We had so much fun...

We went to a bunch of Bees games. When there are fireworks after the game we get to lay on the field. Baseball grass is the best grass ever.

We are lovers of fireworks.

My Bees personal ticket agent was kind enough to comp me a suite. The following are some highlights of the evening: Free suite (obviously), 70's concession prices night, Bumble Bee made a personal appearance and stayed for a dance and we were on the jumbo screen TWICE! Probably one of the best days this summer.

The fabulous Cindy Brown turned the big 5-0, so Ryan and I flew out to Huntington for her surprise party. I wish I had a picture of her face when she saw Ryan...tears of joy.

Betor was kind enough to let us crash at his place so Cindy wouldn't find out we were in town. He took us to watch the Catalina Ski Race in Long Beach Harbor. I still can't believe that these guys water ski all the way from Long Beach to Catalina and back in under an hour.

The whole time we were there I was on a serious steroid regimen to correct the loss of hearing in my left ear. The doctor said I would either feel euphoric or aggressive...thankfully I was somewhere in the middle.

June '09

June was mellow. We didn't take many photos and I can only remember a few things that happened.

Our marriage license arrived, so I am officially a Pilstl. Still having a hard time pronouncing that.

The Atmosphere crew rode their bikes around Brigham City for Diabetes. I have no interest in over exerting myself, so Amy and I hung out with little Sydney and Buddy. Here is Syd in the team jersey.

He is very generous with his snacks.

May '09

May was A*W*E*S*O*M*E

Ryan and I left Salt Lake for So Cal on the 10th with a car load of luggage and wedding decorations. We drove straight through, making a quick stop at the Gold Strike Casino to win an easy $50. Good start.

We spent the week up to the wedding hanging out with friends and family. Beav and Andy took us down to the rock. The guys swam out to it and jumped off...I was too scared.

We drove up to Beverly Hills to apply for a marriage license. Approved.

The Garbett ladies went to the LA flower market and made some beautiful arrangements for the wedding. Ryan's bros threw him a bachelor party...unfortunately no documentation of this event exists.

drum roll please....we tied the knot in Griffith Park on Friday, May 15th. Thanks to Steven for taking photos, Them Jeans for the music, Serena for the cake, Derek for officiating, John and Kristin for the monetary support...I could go on and on.

Everyone had a fantastic time...

and stayed at the Safari Inn. Classic.

We stayed in LA that weekend and on Monday left for Indian Springs, Calistoga.

We took PCH all the way up to Calistoga. It was beautiful.

Toured some killer wineries and ate some fabulous food.

April '09

April was chock full 'o fun. Below are highlights in no particular order.

Jerry & Yvonne Brown's 50th Wedding Anniversary
We stayed in a free suite at the Palazzo in Vegas and felt fancy. I love the note Ashley left for us...

The gift basket wasn't as great as I had hoped.

SFF
First farm share week. I now love kohlrabi, chard and sunchoke...kale still sucks.

Bachelorette Party
It was so awesome...the next day was not.

March '09

I was surprised to see this gem in Spanish Fork

February '09

I only remember two things that happened in February.

Super Bowl XLIII
Niki and I made a killer 7 layer dip for our Super Bowl party. The oil we used to cook hot wings caught fire three times. Thankfully we had an extra pot and were able to cook all 5 dozen.

Dustin's Cabin
A few of us went up to Dustin's family cabin near Smith & Morehouse for a night. You have to take a snowmobile or CAT/ATV up which is usually pretty fun, but on this particular occasion the ATV and one snowmobile broke down on the way up. Other than that our night and the following day were awesome. The weather was beautiful and a great change from the inversion we get in SLC during the winter. On the way home we stopped at the Road Island Diner in Oakley. Swing by if you are ever in the area.

January '09

January is a terribly busy month for us, hence the lack of photographs. We both work for Atmosphere Studios and for some reason the majority of our clients attend a trade show or two in January. It really kills the both of us, but we get by.

Ryan is in charge of setting up the 3,500 sq ft Keen exhibit at Outdoor Retailer and a shoe show in Vegas. I'm so glad I don't have his job.

I love his "Beard Removal" series
